Primary and secondary colour

Before I started this exercise I decided to look up the meaning of  the word colour in the Oxford dictionary, for the purpose of this exercise the most appropriate meaning is 'sensation produced in eye by rays of decomposed light'. I hadn't really thought about it this way and realised jjust how much we take what we see for granted, later that same day I was watching the sun shine through a crystal candlestick and noticed just how many colours were reflected on the wall.

This exercise was very though provoking trying to find 'pure' colours to photograph, some colours were fairly easy to find and photograph, some were easy to find but difficult to photograph.  The two  I Found hardest were purple which tended to photograph blue and blue itself which I found difficult to find in a pure colour.

From the photgraphs taken I then had to pick which one's matched the colour wheel closist.
My choices were Green 1/3 overexposed ,Yellow 1/3 overexposed, Orange 1/3 stop underexposed,
Red and Purle were the metered ones and blue was 1/3 stop under exposed( I am really not happy with the  blue and I am still on the look out for something much better which I will then upload on to my blog. Photographs I refer to are as below:

Reading material at the moment is Creative photography 01 design principles, I particually like the photographs on page 63 taken by photgrapher Rommert Boonstra these images I found inspiring in their simplisity.

This was challenging but I found a sense of satisfaction on the colours I found and also a sense of frustration on the ones that took alot longer to find, I decided that I would almost stop looking as I think I was trying too hard on some of them and to start to collect photographs for the next exercise as I saw them.
